Temporal changes in the Raman spectrum of lysozyme due to structural changes caused by heat exposure

The secondary, tertiary and quaternary structure of a protein or enzyme is decisive for its activity and function. Since changes in the protein structure can occur in protein purification processes such as spray drying, activity may be impaired. To determine the causes of structural changes as well as the effects on the activity contact-free and online, the working group develops methods for spectroscopic analysis. Raman, fluorescence, absorption and super-continuum spectroscopy are used for basic investigations. Methods of multivariate data analysis such as principle component analysis, independence analysis or multivariate regression are used for the evaluation.
